the magic of Boating around Espiritu Santo Island
Imagine spending six days sailing through turquoise waters, snorkeling with playful sea lions, lounging on untouched beaches, and exploring some of the most stunning marine environments in the world. That’s exactly what my group of 10 adventurous women experienced during our recent catamaran charter in the Sea of Cortez, Mexico.
Dubbed the “Aquarium of the World” by Jacques Cousteau, the Sea of Cortez offers vibrant marine life, pristine islands, and unspoiled natural beauty. Based in La Paz, Baja California Sur, this luxury sailing adventure was a mix of excitement and relaxation, with something for everyone.

We spent five magical days aboard a spacious luxury catamaran with private cabins, modern air-conditioned interiors, open dining areas, and sun-soaked outdoor decks. Our days were filled with unforgettable experiences, from snorkeling over colorful reefs to hiking on remote islands and swimming alongside sea lions. We also visited Balandra Beach, often called the most beautiful beach in Mexico, with its crystal-clear waters and powdery white sand.
When we weren’t out exploring, the catamaran became our sanctuary. We enjoyed chef-prepared meals, afternoons of reading and chatting, and evenings filled with laughter, games, and stargazing.
Having visited La Paz and its surrounding islands before, I already knew how special this region is. But this trip took my appreciation to a whole new level. The combination of crystal-clear waters, abundant sea life, and the unique charm of Baja made it a truly unforgettable destination.
